PCA FEDERAL CREDIT UNION ANNOUNCES NAME CHANGE TO:
GREATER WAYNE COMMUNITY
FEDERAL CREDIT UNION
On June 25, 2007 the credit union with approval from the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) voted to amend it’s charter from a multiple employer field of membership to a community based charter as follow:
- Persons who live, work, worship or attend school in, and businesses and other legal entities located in Wayne County Ohio.
- Members of record of PCA Federal Credit Union as of June 13, 2007.
- Spouses of persons who died while within the field of membership of this credit union, employees of this credit union, volunteers, members of the immediate family or household, and organizations of such persons.
In 2006 our primary sponsors the (Caraustar) Rittman and Mentor plants closed their facilities and the credit union no longer had a viable occupational common bond. Although PCA Federal Credit Union had other diversified groups in its field of membership it was not sufficient to sustain credit union growth for the future. After careful consideration the credit union board of directors decided that community charter serving Wayne County Ohio would be the most logical and prudent field of membership to pursue.
To better reflect our newly granted charter, the credit union Board of Directors on September 24, 2007 voted to change our name to Greater Wayne Community Federal Credit Union. Our new name will help us develop a stronger presence in Wayne County, and the ability to provide credit union services to others in the community who may not have had the opportunity to take advantage of the value of credit union membership.
Members and the Community will begin to see the new name beginning in November 2007, and the new logo, signage, website and completion of the name change targeted by the end of January 2008. Although the name has changed, the credit union will continue to provide the same level of excellent service it has to our membership since March 21, 1941 when we were originally chartered. Our office location, Board Members, Employees, Account Numbers, and Products will all remain the same.
